New Zealand and India have announced a landmark Free Trade Agreement that will unlock opportunities for New Zealand exporters in one of the world’s largest and fastest growing global economies.

India is New Zealand’s 12th largest trading partner with two-way trade worth $3.68 billion (YE June 2025).

The conclusion of negotiations with India marks a significant milestone in our trade relationship and a vital step towards the Government’s goal of doubling exports in 10 years. Once the agreement enters into force, it will eliminate and reduce tariffs on 95% of New Zealand’s exports.
