20 representatives from leading New Zealand companies will join Prime Minister Rt Hon Christopher Luxon on a mission to Viet Nam this week (25-28 February).
The business delegation, supported by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), will deepen connections, pursue new opportunities for export growth across key sectors and lift New Zealand’s profile in the market.
“Viet Nam is a high growth, high potential market for New Zealand companies looking to expand,” said Clare Wilson, NZTE General Manager International.
In the five years to September 2024, New Zealand’s total exports to Viet Nam grew by 16% to $1.05 billion. It is currently our 14th largest partner in bilateral trade. With a forecast growth rate of 6.6% in 2025 Viet Nam has one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia and is on track to reach upper middle-income country status by 2030.
“With strong trade agreements in place and growing opportunities across sectors such as food and beverage, tourism, education, technology and innovation, New Zealand businesses will build and leverage our reputation as world-class supplier of high-quality goods and services.
“With such a high calibre of business representatives the Prime Minister’s first mission of 2025 is expected to deliver a range of commercial outcomes that will help boost the Government’s goal of doubling the value of exports in 10 years,” Clare Wilson concluded.
