Founded in 1938, Gallagher Group has grown into a global leader. Today, it employs over 1500 people and exports over 3,500 products to 150 countries – helping farmers monitor livestock and land remotely and providing security systems that protect people and property.

The company impressed the judges with its world-class innovation, strong community commitment, and relentless reinvention to scale globally while retaining operations in Hamilton.

The NZIBAs celebrate the vital contribution exporters make to New Zealand’s economy and communities.

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise’s Chief Executive, Peter Chrisp says Gallagher Group’s international success is testament to the power of New Zealand innovation and ambition.

“Gallagher Group’s global success is an excellent example of what can be achieved when businesses continually adapt, innovate, invest in their people, and deliver solutions that matter worldwide. Their relentless reinvention and growth set the benchmark for Kiwi innovation,” says Pete.

International trade is critical to New Zealand’s economy, contributing over $100 billion each year and providing jobs to one in four New Zealanders.

“The businesses we are recognising tonight are the driving force behind New Zealand’s export success, paving the way for others to follow in their footsteps by strengthening New Zealand’s place on the global stage.

“We’re proud to partner with Kiwi businesses to help accelerate their growth and take New Zealand ingenuity to the world.”

This year’s awards featured 55 finalists across 10 categories, with winners spanning technology, food, wellness, and fashion—showcasing the resilience and creativity of Kiwi exporters.

Some of the outstanding examples of export success highlighted at the awards included Best Medium Business Award winner, Pure Food Co which is revolutionising nutrition for older adults, exporting science-backed, texture-modified foods to healthcare providers and consumers across Australasia, and Best Emerging Business Award winner, Starboard Maritime Intelligence which turns complex data into actionable insights, helping authorities intercept illegal fishing, prevent smuggling and respond to emergencies at sea.

Beca’s Amelia Linzey took home the Inspiring Women Leaders Award for her transformational leadership in one of Asia Pacific’s largest engineering and consulting firms. Amelia has also introduced programs that create pathways for women in STEM and leadership roles.
