America's Cup 2013

Congratulations to Oracle Team USA and Emirates Team New Zealand for their heartfelt participation in the 34th America's Cup.

The America's Cup is the world’s largest and fastest sailing competition. This year's regatta was held in San Francisco and was attended by people from across the world.

As a proud supporter of Emirates Team New Zealand, New Zealand celebrated its presence in San Francisco with a series of high profile, uniquely New Zealand events throughout the city.

Home base for the program was at an innovative new venue on Emirates Team New Zealand’s official base on Pier 32.  In the shape of a traditional “Waka,” a Maori canoe, the venue was a dramatic sight on the San Francisco waterfront, symbolizing New Zealand’s unparalleled sailing heritage and our unmistakable presence in the city this summer.

The San Francisco Bay Area and New Zealand share rich ties in the areas of sport and marine technology, hi-tech, food, wine, and tourism.

Throughout the summer, New Zealand companies traveled to San Francisco to showcase New Zealand creativity and innovation. We hosted these companies and their guests in a unique New Zealand environment, demonstrating Kiwi creativity and innovation while experiencing the AC72 racing action.
