    How it works
    The specific support you receive from us in international markets really depends on where you are at on your international journey, what you’re trying to achieve, and the challenges you are up against.

    Our international support includes:
    • Advice on developing a market entry plan
    • Market research in your priority markets
    • Help with assessing and understanding your customers and competition
    • Advice on channels, partners and market access
    • Help to build your knowledge, experience and connections in market
    • Access to trade promotion and in-market networking events
    • In-market immersion programmes to help you really understand market realities
    • Using our New Zealand Government status, and working with our partners such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Ministry of Primary Industries, to assist with market access  
    • For our Focus customers, we provide customised in-market support aligned with your market growth plan, which we develop with you to help you achieve your global growth goals. Once we know your plan, we can give you priority access to our international network and connect you to local experts and our Beachheads private sector advisors.
     
    Am I eligible?
    Our international support is available to NZTE Build and Focus customers. Focus customers receive priority access to our international network.
    To access in-market support, Build customers must have a market plan.

    How much is it?
    Many of our international services are free.
    Some trade promotion events are invitation only, and participating companies will need to be able to ensure they can provide enough products and promotional material for the duration of any event.
    Our in-market immersion programmes are paid for by participants.
  • Our international Beachheads network
    How it works
    Our team work hand-in-glove with NZTEs Beachheads advisors, a network of private sector experts who offer perspective and insights to help our customers shape the direction of their business. They have experience in running international businesses and can help you grapple with specific challenges and maximise opportunities.
     
    Am I eligible?
    Access to our network of advisors is for our Focus and Build customers. If you’re a Focus customer you’ll receive priority access to our Beachheads international network, facilitated through our teams in-market or via your Customer Manager in New Zealand. To access in-market support, Build customers must have a market plan. For more information about developing a market plan, talk to your NZTE customer manager.

    How much is it?
    There is no charge for our Focus and eligible Build customers.

     

  • Our international events
    How it works

    We know that making connections and networking in-market plays an important part in successfully doing business outside New Zealand. We help by hosting networking events, webinars, trade promotions and by offering our customers profile and prominence in tradeshows and conferences. Then it’s over to you to make the most of every event by networking like crazy.

    Am I eligible?
    Invitations to our in-market events are for our Focus and Build customers. We’ll invite you to the right events, understanding which sectors and regions are most strategically valuable for your business. If you’re a Focus customer you’ll receive priority access to in-market events. To access in-market support, Build customers must have a market plan. For more information about developing a market plan, talk to your NZTE customer manager.
     
    How much is it?
    Some events may have pre-work requirements, or a cost associated with attending. You’re also responsible for your travel costs to attend events offshore.
