New Zealand has signed an free trade agreement (FTA) with the European Union, providing duty-free access on 97% of New Zealand's existing goods trade to the EU at full implementation. New Zealand's FTA with the United Kingdom came into force in 2023, giving New Zealand exporters exceptional access to one of the world's largest economies and an important, longstanding partner of New Zealand.
Trade with countries in the Middle East and Africa is growing, with strong demand for New Zealand's dairy products, as well as the country's health and technology solutions.
