PARTNER WITH NEW ZEALAND - GREATER CHINA

欢迎, 歡迎, Nau mai, haere mai. Welcome.

The Greater China region is New Zealand's largest source of trade partners, for both imports and exports. It is New Zealand's largest export destination, accounting for nearly NZ$25 billion in goods and service exports in 2024. New Zealand also imported almost NZ$19 billion in goods and service from the Greater China region in 2024.

The New Zealand-China Free Trade Agreement was signed in April 2008 in Beijing. It was the first free trade agreement that the People's Republic of China had signed with any developed country and was New Zealand's largest trade deal since the 1983 Closer Economic Relations agreement with Australia. On 7 April 2022, the Upgrade to the FTA entered into force, eliminating further tariffs and reducing compliance measures for exporters.

New Zealand looks forward to further growth and business partnerships in Greater China.

Together, we can do amazing things.
