__NZTE's Export Customer team is made up of energetic, ambitious people who are privileged to work every day alongside clever New Zealand businesses as they grow internationally.__

We bring hands-on experience from both the public and private sector to the table, and a passion for working collaboratively and sustainably.

Phillipa Cameron leads NZTE's Export Customer team, which helps thousands of New Zealand exporters succeed overseas.

Pip was formerly the Chief Customer Officer at Stuff, where she was responsible for Marketing, Customer Experience, Communications, Events and Customer Operations; as well as the Consumer Revenue within the business. During her 10 years there, she was part of the core team that scaled Stuff and has a deep understanding of digital transformation.

Pip started her career in FMCG, and has a real passion for innovation, brand and customer insight. She has three kids, is married to Jonathan (a full-time Director), and is based in Auckland.

Phillipa Cameron

Our Export Customer leadership team has a broad range of experience who inspire, coach and guide the Customer Managers who work directly with exporters in New Zealand, to develop and deliver plans that build their export capability and international growth.

Emma is Head of Engaged Customers, working with the team who assists early stage exporters to grow their international business.

She joined NZTE in New York where she worked as a BDM, and held Customer Manager and Customer Director roles before starting her current role.

Before NZTE, Emma worked as a scientific advisor to an intellectual property litigation team in New York and prior to that she was a research scientist in the field of molecular biology. She has lived and worked in the UK, Italy and the US. 

Emma is based in Tāmaki Makaurau, where she lives with her partner John, two children and a large crazy dog.

Emma Lewis

Daniel is NZTE's Head of Focus Customers. He has held a number of leadership roles across NZTE, including Head of Manufacturing, Trade Commissioner for the United Kingdom and Ireland, Trade Commissioner and Consul General in Melbourne, and NZTE Private Secretary to the Minister for Economic Development.

Before joining NZTE, Daniel was involved in exporting fresh produce, with operations roles at ENZA and Global Fruits.

Based in the beautiful Hawke's Bay, Dan and his wife Pip are the proud parents to two wonderful daughters. He's an avid follower of almost any sport, with a particular passion for cricket and football and an appreciation for Aussie Rules Football that only comes from having lived in Melbourne.

Daniel Taylor

Jeremy leads the Māori Export Customer team, which supports Māori Focus customers. The Māori Export Customer team looks after customers across the country. Jeremy was also a customer of NZTE for many years, bringing a unique perspective to the team.

Jeremy's experience includes leadership roles in start-ups, growth and corporates across a range of sectors, including food and beverage, finance, IT and iwi/Māori.

Jeremy's whakapapa links to Ngāti Awa, Ngāti Pikiao, Te Whānau-ā-Apanui and Te Whakatōhea iwi in the Bay of Plenty.

Jeremy Gardiner

Estelle is a Customer Director, overseeing a portfolio of approximately 140 high growth export companies across the Auckland and Wellington regions. She leads a team of commercially minded Customer Managers who specialise in the Food and Beverage and Consumer Goods sector.

Her previous roles at NZTE include a Customer Manager for Manufacturing and Premium Consumer Goods companies exporting to high value markets, a Business Development Manager in our Paris office supporting Food and Beverage and Consumer Goods entering the French market, as well as a Programme Manager in Missions and Events. 

Prior to joining NZTE in 2014, Estelle lived in the UK and built a tradeshow business delivering events in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Estelle also has experience leading sales, marketing and operational teams and holds a bachelor in Geography from the University of Durham (UK). 

Estelle is deeply inspired by our exporters and is dedicated to their global and sustainable growth. Collaboration is key for Estelle, and she thrives on understanding what drives teams and individuals, ensuring our support maximises their impact.

Estelle Carmichael

Nick leads a team of Customer Managers focused on the Manufacturing sector based out of our offices in Tauranga, Napier, Wellington, Palmerston North and New Plymouth.

Previously, he was Trade Commissioner and Consul General in Vancouver, Canada, and a Customer Manager looking after companies down the west coast of the North Island between New Plymouth and Palmerston North.

With a Bachelor of Science and Postgraduate Diploma in Business and Administration from Massey University, Nick comes from a background of key account relationship management in international markets with experience in the dairy and medical equipment industries, before entering the world of business development, first via Venture Taranaki and then NZTE.

Nick Fleming

Julie is a Customer Director supporting companies based in the Hawke's Bay, Bay of Plenty, Nelson and Marlborough. She leads a team of Customer Managers based in Nelson, Napier and Tauranga who support New Zealand companies in the Food, Beverage, Consumer Goods, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Technology sectors.

Julie has been working alongside New Zealand companies for more than two decades. Her roles at NZTE have primarily been in the Export Customer team, directly working alongside businesses in roles of Customer Manager, Regional Manager and Customer Director of Food, Beverage and Consumer Goods. 

Julie is passionate about supporting female founders in leadership positions within New Zealand businesses, assisting to stand up NZTE's Women in Export. She is a also an advocate of regional New Zealand.

Julie Jackson

Charlie leads an Auckland-based team of Customer Managers with a portfolio of 120 high-growth tech companies. He joined NZTE as a business development manager in Madrid, and has been New Zealand's Trade Commissioner and Consul General in Milan, responsible for Italy, Eastern Europe, Russia and Scandinavia.

His international experience includes sales and marketing roles in Sweden, Italy, Spain and New Zealand. He is a member of the Institute of Directors New Zealand and is on the board of Akarana (Auckland) Rugby League. He has diplomas in business, management and international studies from Otago Polytechnic, New Zealand Institute of Management and the Sociedad de Estudios Internacionales in Spain, respectively, and studied sustainable economic development at Complutense University of Madrid.

Charlie Haddrell

Mark is a Customer Director supporting companies based in Auckland. His focus is in technology, telecommunications, food and beverage, beauty and SAAS (software as a service).

Before joining NZTE, Mark spent two years working in a travel software company and, prior to that, 12 years with a large US corporate in unified communications, based in New Zealand and Singapore.

"NZTE Customer Managers have a high EQ, and the ability to recognise what assistance and help a customer needs for the next stage in their development and growth."

Mark Debenham

Angela leads a team of Customer Managers in Auckland and Northland, working with around 100 specialised manufacturing and technology businesses.

Before joining NZTE, she held executive positions with multinational and local information technology services companies, including NTT, AT&T, Vector and Spark, as well as senior roles within New Zealand Post. She has extensive leadership experience in sales, marketing and channel strategy and has founded her own businesses, including an executive coaching practice.

She is certified by the International Coaching Federation, a Green Belt Six Sigma practitioner, a chartered member of the Institute of Directors New Zealand and deputy chair of Franklin Hospice. She has a communications diploma from Massey University.

Angela Huxford

Shelley serves as the Māori Customer Director, leading the team of Māori Customer Managers at NZTE.

Shelley has held executive commercial leadership roles and general management positions, bridging onshore and offshore manufacturing through the value chain to both ingredient and consumer brands. 

This has built a 360-degree appreciation of global strategy, executing through diverse business models, partnerships, and product innovation, most recently heading Asia for Icebreaker. With a deep sense of pride, Shelley has been taking a slice of Aotearoa to the globe, now driven by a passion to unlock New Zealand’s unique quadruple bottom line global potential for a better future for our people.
