SUPPORTING NZ EXPORTERS IN INDIA
New Zealand-India Free Trade Agreement
Signed on 27 April 2026, the New Zealand–India Free Trade Agreement will make it easier for New Zealand exporters to compete, grow and do business in India.
Once the agreement enters into force, tariffs will be removed or reduced on 95% of New Zealand’s current exports to India, with 57% duty-free from day one, increasing to 82% when fully implemented. The remaining 13% will benefit from sharp tariff cuts.
Tariff reductions do not apply until the FTA has entered into force.
