LIVE DEALS FAQS

Live Deals is a free online platform that allows you to search AIP approved managed funds. Access to the platform is restricted to qualified investors and investment opportunities are registered through the Invest New Zealand Investment Team.

Live Deals is not a:

• trading platform – users cannot buy shares or stocks on the platform
• crowdfunding platform
• syndication platform
• database to look up NZ companies
• peer-to-peer connection platform

The information on the Live Deals platform is not designed to be publicly available and is only available to qualified investors who have met the specified criteria. It is not available for general research or other purposes.

A qualified investor is someone who has been approved by the Invest New Zealand Investment Team as a wholesale investor with a legitimate business interest in investing in New Zealand. Wholesale investors are defined as per the Financial Markets Conduct Act – clause 3 of Schedule 1.

Invest New Zealand has sole discretion to determine whether an investor is granted access to Live Deals. Invest New Zealand may also revoke an investor's access to Live Deals at any time, at its discretion.

Local and international wholesale investors can register to become a qualified investor.

• To access Live Deals, investors must fill out a registration of interest form.
• The form requires you to give Invest New Zealand some key information about what type of investor you are, where you are located, and what opportunities you are interested in.
• Our team will review your registration of interest within 5 business days and approve or decline your access to Live Deals.
• If approved, you will be added to our global investor network database. We will then send you a link by email to join Live Deals and complete your account registration.
• You will then be able to log on and view live investment opportunities in New Zealand via the Live Deals platform.

The investment has been assessed as an acceptable investment for the purposes of the Active Investor Plus visa. If an investment is made, a visa applicant can request from the investee company a copy of the acceptable investment letter to evidence to Immigration New Zealand compliance with their visa conditions.

If an investor is interested in an investment opportunity listed on Live Deals, they will be able to click "expression of interest" (EOI).

An EOI email will be sent to the investee company directly via an email notification. Potential investors can expect a representative from the investee company to contact them directly. Invest New Zealand is notified of your of EOI for recording purposes only and is not involved in any communication between the investee company and potential investor.
